All You Need To Know About HSK 6 in 2025
HSK” stands for 汉语水平考试 Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì, which means “Chinese Level Test”. HSK test assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives.
There are nine levels, HSK 1(lowest), HSK 2, HSK 3, HSK 4, HSK 5, HSK 6, HSK 7-9(highest).

HSK 6 Test Content
The test consists of 101 questions, which are divided into three sections: listening, reading and writing. The test lasts about 140 minutes (including 5 minutes for candidates to complete the personal information form).

15 questions, including 3 interviews.
5 questions in each interview, and 4 options are provided for each question on the test paper.

20 questions, including 6 articles.
There are 3-4 questions for each article,and there are 4 options for each question on the test paper.
Candidates choose the answers according to what they hear.

II.Reading Comprehension (50 items/50 mins)
Part I, 15 items (51-60)
10 questions.
There are 4 sentences for each question.
Candidates should choose one of the 4 sentences that had an inflection.
Part II, 10 items (61-70)
10 questions.
Each question has 1 paragraph, and each paragraph has 3-5 blanks.
Candidates should choose the most appropriate one from the 4 options in each question to fill in the blanks according to the context.
Part III, 10 items (71-80)
10 questions, including 2 articles.
There are 5 blanks in each article.
Candidates should fill in the 5 options in the appropriate blanks according to the context.
Part IV, 20 items (81-100)
20 questions, including 5 articles.
There are 4 questions in each article.
Candidates should choose the answer from the 4 options in each question.
III.Writing Comprehension (1 items/45 mins)
Part I, 1 item (101)
Candidates should first read an article of about 1000 words in 10 minutes, and then shorten the article to a short article of about 400 words in 35 minutes.
Candidates need to draw up your own title and simply restate the content of the article without adding your own opinions.

HSK 6 report provides listening, reading, writing and total score, with a full score of 300.
Meanwhile, the report also provides a norm table of percentage levels, so that candidates can get a general understanding of their scores in the global candidates.
HSK 6 Certificate
1) The HSK 6 certificate has permanent validity, once you receive it, it becomes your property and is valid forever.
2) As Chinese language certificate for foreign students’ entry into Chinese colleges, the results of the HSK (Hsk 5 & 6) are valid for two years (from the test date).
