Why Spring?

The Perfect Season for First-Timers

If this is your child’s first time learning Chinese abroad, spring offers the gentlest introduction to China.

🌡️

Gentle Weather, Easy Adjustment

Spring temperatures of 15-25°C are perfect for children. Not too hot like summer, not too cold like winter. Your child’s body can focus on learning, not adapting to extreme weather.

👨‍🏫

Smaller Classes, More Attention

Spring is our quietest season. While summer averages 4-5 students per class, spring averages just 2-3. Your child gets more speaking time and personalized feedback from teachers.

🌸

Beautiful First Impressions

Cherry blossoms, magnolias, and spring flowers transform Beijing into a magical garden. The Forbidden City and Summer Palace are at their most stunning. First impressions matter.

😊

Lower Pressure Environment

Without the intensity of packed summer programs, spring camp has a relaxed pace. Perfect for building confidence and developing a genuine love for Chinese without stress.

🏥

International hospitals within 3km

United Family Hospital and other international facilities nearby. English-speaking doctors. Insurance direct billing.

vs. Hours from proper medical care

📍

Beijing’s safest neighborhood

We’re in Sanlitun, surrounded by embassies and international businesses. It’s where diplomats send their own children.

vs. Remote campus locations

Success Stories

First-Timers Who Fell in Love with Chinese

Hear from families who took the leap — and never looked back.

Rachel Tan from Singapore

Rachel Tan

Mother of Emma (9) · Singapore 🇸🇬

“I was terrified to send Emma alone for the first time. But the daily photos and videos put my mind at ease completely. By day 3, she was video-calling me IN CHINESE! The spring weather was perfect — not too hot, not too cold. She’s already asking when she can go back for summer camp.”

Somchai Patel from Thailand

Somchai & Nida Patel

Parents of Arun (12) · Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭

“We chose spring because the smaller class sizes meant more attention for our shy son. Best decision ever. With only 3 students in his class, he couldn’t hide — and that’s exactly what he needed. His Chinese teacher became like family. The cherry blossoms were a bonus!”

Dewi Kusuma from Indonesia

Dewi Kusuma

Mother of Sari (14) · Jakarta, Indonesia 🇮🇩

“Sari knew zero Chinese before arriving. Two weeks later, she passed HSK 1! The homestay family was wonderful — they’d been vetted by the school and had hosted international kids before. Sari still video chats with her host ‘grandma’ every week. This wasn’t just a camp, it was a life experience.”

Michael & Sarah Johnson

Parents of Tyler (11) · California, USA 🇺🇸

“We flew from LA specifically for spring break. The visa-free entry made it so easy. Tyler was nervous on day one, but by day three he had friends from Singapore and Korea. The Great Wall hike in spring weather was incredible — no crowds, perfect temperature. Worth every penny.”

FAQ

Questions First-Time Parents Always Ask

My child has never been away from home. Is spring camp suitable?

Spring is actually ideal for first-timers. Smaller class sizes mean more individual attention from teachers. Each child has a dedicated counselor monitoring their emotional wellbeing. The gentle weather reduces physical stress. And you can start with just 1 week to test the waters — many families extend once they see how well their child is doing.

What if my child doesn’t know any Chinese?

Most of our spring campers (about 60%) arrive with zero Chinese knowledge. Our teachers specialize in teaching complete beginners using games, songs, and real-life practice. A placement test on Day 1 ensures your child is grouped with others at the same level. By Day 3, they’ll be ordering food in Chinese!

What if my child gets homesick?

It’s normal and we’re prepared for it. Each child has a dedicated counselor who checks in daily. We schedule a video call time with parents every evening. The busy schedule of classes, activities, and new friends leaves little time for homesickness. In our experience, most kids adjust within 2-3 days. If issues persist, we work closely with you to find solutions.

How is the spring weather in Beijing?

Spring is Beijing’s most pleasant season. March: 10-18°C (bring a light jacket). April: 15-25°C (perfect t-shirt weather). May: 20-28°C (warm and sunny). Unlike summer’s heat or winter’s cold, spring weather is comfortable for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Check our packing list for detailed recommendations.

Does my child need a visa?

Great news! Citizens from 80+ countries now enjoy visa-free entry to China for 15-30 days, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, most European countries, and many more. This is perfect for our 1-4 week programs. For countries that do require a visa, we provide official invitation letters to support your application.

Can I visit my child during the program?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to visit anytime. You can sit in on a class, join lunch, or accompany them on an excursion. Many parents traveling to Beijing for business schedule their trip to overlap with their child’s camp. Some families also choose our Family Camp option to experience the program together.

What about food allergies and dietary requirements?

We accommodate all dietary needs — halal, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and specific allergies. Beijing has excellent options for all diets, and our partner restaurants and homestay families are briefed on your child’s requirements before arrival. Just let us know during registration.

What’s your refund policy?

We offer 100% refund if your visa application is denied. For other cancellations, we provide flexible rescheduling options — you can move your booking to a future session at no extra cost. We understand plans change, especially for families booking their first international program.
