1. Do You Need a Visa? China Entry Guide for Summer Camp 2026
If you're from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, or most of Europe, your child does NOT need a visa to attend summer camp in China in 2026. China has dramatically expanded its visa-free entry policies. For a 2-to-4-week summer camp, the 30-day visa-free policy is the simplest and most common entry route.
30-Day Visa-Free Entry (48 Countries)
Citizens of the following 48 countries can enter China without a visa for stays up to 30 days, covering tourism, family visits, business, and cultural exchange. Chinese summer camp falls under cultural exchange.

Americas (4 countries): United States, Canada (from Feb 17, 2026), Brazil, Argentina.
What you need at the airport: a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity), a return or onward flight ticket, and accommodation confirmation. No application needed — just arrive and go through immigration. The 30-day countdown starts from 00:00 on the day after entry.
240-Hour Transit Visa-Free (55 Countries)
If your country is not on the 30-day list, you may qualify for the 240-hour (10-day) transit visa-free policy covering 55 countries. Requirements: you must be transiting through China to a third country or region (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan count). You need a confirmed onward ticket. Beijing Capital Airport and Beijing Daxing Airport are both eligible entry ports.
L Visa (Tourist Visa) for Other Countries

Common Medications: Chinese Equivalents
Ibuprofen = 布洛芬 (available as 芬必得). Acetaminophen/Tylenol = 对乙酰氨基酚 (available as 泰诺林). Antihistamine = 氯雷他定 (available as 开瑞坦). Pepto-Bismol is not available — Chinese equivalent is Smecta 蒙脱石散.
